Overview

This course offers students the opportunity to develop their skills and progress towards an A Level social sciences and humanities pathway. You will develop skills such as study management, essay writing, computer literacy and critical thinking. You will also develop your knowledge of social science and humanities topics. You will complete a number of qualifications equivalent to GCSE and A Level.

Details

You must study:

NOCN Level 2 progression to further studies in Humanities, Social Sciences and The Arts

A core lesson - one hour a fortnight

 

You may also add:

GCSE English and maths if you do not have a 4/C at GCSE

 

You can then choose two of the following options:

 

BTEC Level 3 Public Services Cert QCF

BTEC Level 3 Business Cert QCF

BTEC Level 3 Travel and Tourism Cert QCF

BTEC Level 3 Sport Cert QCF

How will it be delivered?

Successful completion could lead to progression onto a two year Level 3 qualification. 

Entry requirements

Students would have a GCSE profile of 3/4 or C to D across English and maths and a range of other courses.

Your next steps...

This course will help students to prepare for A Level and higher education courses in particularly in social science and humanities subjects such as economics, sociology, geography, environmental science, geography, or for work relating to education and the public sector. It could also prepare candidates for progressing in to vocational studies or apprenticeship.
