Requirements for entry, minimum of 5 GCSEs grades A*- C including Science, English Language and Maths. A level Science is a demanding course both in terms of commitment to the subject and academic ability. A good command of the English language and sound mathematical skills are essential.
These are vocational A levels. They are valuable qualifications leading directly to employment or are a route into higher education colleges and universities. Applied Science A level is a modular course consisting of physical, chemical and biological units. During the course students will be expected to plan, carry out and write up assignments which will build up into a portfolio of evidence as well as passing written A level examinations. The assignments are based around the work carried out by scientists. Students will have to demonstrate their ability to work in a scientific manner in a variety of activities across all areas of science. You will be responsible for the day to day completion of tasks, both practical and theoretical, and for ensuring that they are completed within the agreed deadlines.
5 A*-C including English, Maths and Additional Science.
The course will prepare students for a variety of careers including engineering, computing, environmental health, the pharmaceutical industry, agriculture, geology, teaching, marketing and the food industry.
