Overview

The creative industries are worth over £100 billion annually to the UK economy. Studying for an A-Level in art and design you, will learn new skills and techniques, and be given the opportunity to explore and develop your artistic ideas. An A-Level in Art and Design is the ideal first step towards a career in the creative industries.

Details

There are two routes available: textile design and three-dimensional design. On the textiles route you will develop your skills and acquire techniques by tackling themed projects involving making a range of different items including garments, accessories, soft-furnishings, prints and dyed items. On the three-dimensional route you will develop y our skills and acquire techniques by tackling themed projects that could involve sculpture, product design, jewellery design, architectural design and more besides. In both routes, recording your experiences and observations and clearly showing the development of your ideas and ability is of critical importance.

Successful Art and Design students will be highly creative with strong artistic and design skills. You will need to be willing to experiment with new techniques and acquire and practice new skills and will be good at exploring and developing your ideas.
