What will you be working towards?
||GCE A/AS Level or Equivalent
This course will suit you if you have both strong interest and ability in mathematics. This is a very challenging course and you will have to be highly motivated and capable of independent study in order to be successful. The course covers a mixture of pure and applied mathematics.
How will it be delivered?
A-Level Mathematics is a two-year programme with students sitting three examinations which form the A-Level grade. Additionally, students can expect to be assessed through activities in the lesson. All work will be assessed against examination board standards with all work receiving feedback.
Paper 1: Pure Maths - 2hr paper (33% weighting)
Paper 2: Pure Maths - 2hr paper (33% weighting)
Paper 3: Mechanics and statistics - 2hr paper (33% weighting)
You will need four GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above (including English Language) and Grade A/7 or above in Mathematics.
