Overview

This course is suitable for students who wish to specialise in Finance and Accounts, and secure employment in this area. This course is ideal if you want to develop the skills and knowledge needed to work in finance. The Level 2 Certficate in Accounting and Business covers a range of basic accounting practices and techniques, from costing and double-entry bookkeeping to computerised accounts:- - Processing bookkeeping transactions - Control accounts, journals and the banking system - Working Effectively in Accounting and Finance - Basic Costing - Computerised Accounting - Applied business communications and personal skills - Spreadsheet software - Developing study skills - Introduction to payroll systems - Computerised payroll skills Our Study Programme includes opportunities for you to develop your English and Maths skills as required. You may be expected to complete either functional skills or GCSE qualifications as part of your course depending on your GCSE results. This course includes the opportunity to take part in an industry placement in a sector relevant to your qualification and study programme. The placement will take place 1 or 2 days per week on the days when you are not in college studying. Industry placements are designed to give you the skills to start work at the end of your studies, progress into an apprenticeship, or to add to your UCAS statement.

How will it be delivered?

Assessment is by a combination of coursework and external computer-based examinations.

Entry requirements

5 GCSES Grades A*-C/4 including English and Mathematics.
