Overview

The Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media Production offers a diverse range of subjects giving trainees an insight into the industry enabling them to develop analytical, creative production and technical skills. The course encourages a diverse range of skills giving trainees the opportunity to decide on the correct �media� path to follow. Students will also develop and refine an online portfolio/website, increasingly seen as a vital resource for progression either into a level 3 course or employment. A recognition and understanding of career paths and employment opportunities are embedded into our work, offering trainees an insight into radio, journalism, film, studio, camera work, technical skills and editing. Projects may include: Production, sound and editing Documentaries and film Film trailers TV studio production Radio Magazines and column writing Our Study Programme includes opportunities for you to develop your English and Maths skills as required. You may be expected to complete either functional skills or GCSE qualifications as part of your course depending on your GCSE results. This course includes the opportunity to take part in an industry placement in a sector relevant to your qualification and study programme. The placement will take place 1 or 2 days per week on the days when you are not in college studying. Industry placements are designed to give you the skills to start work at the end of your studies, progress into an apprenticeship, or to add to your UCAS statement.

How will it be delivered?

All of your work will follow a vocational scenario or context that simulates a real-world situation. This course is 100 % coursework. You will present your work in a range of formats. You will be assessed on your research, development and experimentation and final outcomes and you will be encouraged to develop your work and professional practice through evaluation and self-reflection.
