What will you be working towards?
This Level 2 Sports Coaching course consists of 7 units all of which are taught in a practical context. � Developing Sporting Skills & Tactical Awareness � Development of Personal Fitness through Training � Introduction to Healthy Exercise & Nutrition � Lifestyle & the Sports Performer � Participating in Sport � Plan, Deliver & Evaluate an Activity Session � Sports Coaching Our Study Programme includes opportunities for you to develop your English and Maths skills as required. You may be expected to complete either functional skills or GCSE qualifications as part of your course depending on your GCSE results. This course includes the opportunity to take part in an industry placement in a sector relevant to your qualification and study programme. The placement will take place 1 or 2 days per week on the days when you are not in college studying. Industry placements are designed to give you the skills to start work at the end of your studies, progress into an apprenticeship, or to add to your UCAS statement.
How will it be delivered?
A wide variety of assessments will be used. The NCFE programme will use continuous assessment rather than examinations and you will be able to track your performance as you work towards your targets and goals. You will be assessed through observation, planning and delivering coaching sessions, working with local primary schools and discussion and evaluation of your performance. Your tutor will encourage you to develop evaluation skills and teach you how to reflect and improve your coaching over the year. To help with assessment, you will be expected to devote personal time for your studies.
