Overview
The NCFE Level 3 Diploma in Public Services introduces you to the world of the Public Services. This course is designed to prepare learners who are serious about pursuing a career in the military. Though there is a focus particularly on careers in the military, there is scope to look at other areas of public service. It will provide you with the opportunity to gain a realistic understanding of the features of each force and the expectations of service. Areas of study include: physical fitness, leadership skills, map reading and navigation. Learners who complete can progress onto the Extended Diploma or may apply for a career in the British Army, Royal Navy or Royal Air Force. Units covered: 1 � Prepare for a career in a chosen uniformed service 2 � Develop aspects of physical fitness for entry to the uniformed services 3 � Develop leadership skills 4 � Equality, diversity and inclusion 5 � Uniformed services hierarchy and routine 6 � Values and standards 7 � Mental and physical wellbeing 8 � Carry out map reading and navigation across open country 16 � Skills for land-based outdoor and adventurous activities
