Accounting L2 (Apprenticeship)
Business, Administration and Law
What will you be working towards?
||Accounting L2 (Apprenticeship)
Earn while you learn on an apprenticeship with the College! This nationally recognised standard will provide you with the skills, experience and knowledge you need to progress in your chosen career. Your apprenticeship framework will include a combination of on-the-job training, studying for your qualification at College and maths, English and possibly ICT depending on the framework and any prior GCSEs.
This course will start to develop your skills in a range of accounting procedures and expand you knowledge in business administration. Mostly targeted towards manual accounting, you will also get to grips with computerised accounting and other software applications.
You will learn how to work with the purchase ledger, sales ledger and general ledger, and will also gain a basic understanding of costing.
Level 2 consists of the following units:
> Basic Accounting 1
> Basic Accounting 2
> Basic Costing
> Computerised Accounting
> Working Effectively in Accounting and Finance
Apprentices take an additional unit on Professional Ethics.
As you work towards your qualification your progress will be assessed in two ways. Most of the units are assessed by online supervised exams authorised and assessed by the AAT. However, two units are completed through online assignments and these will be assessed by your tutor with the results notified to the AAT.
Students need to have the following:
> Employment within the sector with a contract of employment for at least 30 hours per week
> A good standard of education with 5 GCSEs at A-C / 9-4 including maths and English (or equivalent)
> Satisfactory completion of the college initial assessment
