  • Coursework Portfolio
  • Externally Set Assignment

How will it be delivered?

On the course students are expected to be self-directed and to develop their own theme to explore. During their coursework they will further develop and improve their practical skills in relation to their chosen area of study. They will develop their drawing, painting and 3D skills, experimenting with media and exploring a range of Art and Design contexts

Alongside the critical research they do, students will write an extended essay of 3000 words which link to the student’s own practical investigations. This is marked separately. This is the coursework unit. For A2 there is a timed public examination of 15 hours with a question set by Edexcel.
