Overview
A Level Mathematics at Brockhill is a course worth studying both for students who enjoy Mathematics as a challenging and interesting subject in its own right - But also for students who wish to support studies in the physical and social sciences. It builds on work students will have met at GCSE and involves many new techniques from various branches at Mathematics.
While studying mathematics students will be expected to:
- solve problems by using mathematical arguments and logic. Students will also have to understand and demonstrate what is meant by proof in mathematics and portray great fluency in their mathematical skills.
- solve real-life problems by setting up mathematical models in order to predict future events.
Details
We follow the Edexcel Level 3 Advanced GCE in Mathematics syllabus where students will work towards 3 examinations in Pure Mathematics, Pure Mathematics 2 and Statistics and Mechanics.

Entry requirements
Students should enjoy Mathematics, have studied GCSE mathematics at higher tier and also have obtained a least a Grade 7, preferably a Grade 8 or 9.
