The Pure Mathematics elements of the course include algebra, geometry, calculus, series and trigonometry. The Applied Mathematics elements are split between Statistics and Mechanics. Statistics is the study of the collection, presentation and analysis of data. Mechanics is a study of the mathematics of movement, including Newton’s laws of motions, the formulae concerned with acceleration, velocity and displacement, vectors and force diagrams.  High levels of problem-solving and mathematical logic will be required throughout the course.
