Studying A Level English Language at Saint George’s provides an opportunity to discover and explore a dynamic and often controversial field which is crucial to our understanding of the spoken and written language with which we live and work.
At a critical level, you'll look at the manipulation of language in the newspapers and the media in general; at a historical level, you'll learn about what Old English was and how it's developed into an international language.
At a directly practical level, you'll learn about how individuals learn and teach and about speech and communication disorders. At an overall intellectual level, you'll develop sophisticated skills such as data handling and interpretation, and analysis.
