Overview

AS: A one year course normally completed in Year 12.
There are two units:
Texts in Contexts - either Victorian Literature; or World War One Literature; or The Struggle for Identity in Modern Literature. Creative Study - the exploration of creative interpretations, for transformational writing, and for tracing connections between texts.
A2: A continuation of the AS course which will account for 50% of the final grade.
There are two units:
Students will study Love Through the Ages in the Reading for Meaning unit.
They will also complete an Extended Essay and Shakespeare Study of 3000 words.

Assessment:
AS:
Texts in Contexts - 2 hour examination accounting for 60% of the AS grade. (90 marks)
Creative Study - essay of 2000-2500 words for 40% of AS grade. (60 marks)
A2:
Reading for Meaning – 2 and a half hour examination 30% (80 marks)
Extended Essay and Shakespeare Study – essay of 3000 words 20% (70 marks)
