What will you be working towards?
GCE A/AS Level or Equivalent
AS: Students will study two pure mathematics core units (C1 and C2) covering topics including algebra, trigonometry, calculus and coordinate geometry, amongst others, and a module on statistics (S1), mechanics (M1) or decision maths (D1). A2: Mathematics, students will study two further pure mathematics core units (C3 and C4) extending the work of the earlier units, plus an additional unit. Statistics is a useful unit for all students; mechanics is particularly useful for students studying science; and decision mathematics is particularly suitable for students studying ICT or business.
Assessment: AS: Core Mathematics 1:C1 Core Mathematics 2:C2 Statistics 1:S1 or Mechanics 1:M1 or Decision 1: D1 A2: Core Mathematics 3:C3 Core Mathematics 4:C4 A second module from Mechanics 1:M1 or Statistics 1:S1 Decision 1: D1 All units are equally weighted.
