The Level 2 Certificate in Health and Social Care runs alongside the Level 2 Diploma in childcare. The courses have been designed to enable learners to progress on to a Level 3 course. These qualifications aim to provide learners with knowledge and understanding across a range of key subject areas in health and social care.
Learners will usually be able to achieve the Certificate in one year.
M1 Equality, diversity and rights in Health & Social Care
M2 Human growth and development
M3 Safeguarding and protection in Health & Social Care
Learners are not required to attend placement in a Real Work Environment. However, at the North School, we feel this is really important and therefore offer a week placement over the year to support learning.
Learners must be at least 16 years old. You should have 2 or above in English language and Maths.
This qualification provides direct progression to our Level 3 courses in Health and Social Care. This qualification does not provide a licence to practise, but may support progression into a range of job roles in the health and social care sector, including:
Care support workers in adult residential settings
Healthcare assistants or community-based support workers
