Overview
This Level 1 course is a mixture of practical and theory, with the majority of the time spent in the workshop, developing the hand skills needed to build cavity walls, solid walls, blockwork and the ability to transfer levels. In the class the learners will know how to work safely in construction, relay information, calculate quantities, communicate with others and knowledge of construction technology. Our Study Programme includes opportunities for you to develop your English and Maths skills as required. You may be expected to complete either functional skills or GCSE qualifications as part of your course depending on your GCSE results. The learners will be taught by highly qualified tutors with years of trade experience in well equipped workshops. The programme runs over approximately 3 days a week.

Portfolio, end of unit tests, online exam covering all topics and 3 practical synoptic assessment tests
Entry requirements
Minimum GCSE grade 3 in Mathematics and English supported by two at grade 2, one preferably in science
