Overview
If you want to be an engineer but need to know more about areas within engineering, then this course is the first stepping-stone before you progress onto a higher level in the future. It is a hands-on introduction with 70% practical education in our industry-equipped workshops and 30% theory in modern classrooms. � You will learn and develop technical hand skills for filing, cutting, drawing related to CAD, welding, and the use of drilling, turning and milling machines. Ideally, you will already have had academic success in Science, Maths and English as this is a challenging course that requires a good level of Maths, however our Study Programme includes opportunities for you to develop your English and Maths skills as required. You may be expected to complete either functional skills or GCSE qualifications as part of your course depending on your GCSE results.
How will it be delivered?
Continuous observed assessment of practical competence and a number of theory assessments to compliment, also an on-line end test by external examination.
Entry requirements
Minimum of a Grade 3 in GCSE Math�s and English or equivalent and 2 GCSEs at Grade 3 and above of which one must be Science. Good School/College reference.
