Course Summary

Study English GCSE in the comfort of your own home. If you haven’t managed to achieve your grade C/4, you can re-sit your English Language GCSE. This one-year course prepares students for the GCSE examination that will take place in June. GCSE English is a crucial qualification needed for a very wide range of jobs and more advanced courses.

Course Details

You will study a wide range of texts from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries, including literature and literacy non-fiction as well as other writing such as reviews and journalism.

  • Paper 1: Explorations in Creative Reading and Writing
  • Paper 2: Writers’ Viewpoints and Perspectives
  • Non-examination Assessment: Spoken Language

Entry requirements

No English GCSE qualification or a grade 3 (D) or lower (failing grade). You will be required to sign a declaration if you have not passed this previously.

Equipment required

Students need to have access to a webcam and microphone (built-in to most laptops/tablets).
