Course Summary
Our Work Ready programme is specially designed to help you progress on to an Apprenticeship, Traineeship or work.
If you are 16 to 18 years old (up to 24 if you have an EHCP), not in full-time employment, education or training, then we can boost your confidence, enhance your CV and ensure that you are Work Ready.
You will be taught by a friendly and encouraging tutor who will support your individual needs.
City and Guilds: Functional Skills Maths & English Entry 1 - Level 2
Gateway: Entry 3 / Level 1 Award in British Values
Gateway: EL3 / L1 Certificate in progression

What does Work Ready involve?
Employability and life skills
We will prepare you for the world of work through team building activities, life skills, interview preparation, CV building and employability skills, all set up to get you on track for your next steps.
Qualifications
- E3 / L1 Award in British Values,
- EL3/ L1 Certificate in progression
- Functional skills (Entry 1 - Level 2).
Our progression qualification has been designed to support you to progress into further/higher education courses or a new work area. The qualification will enable you to obtain skills in customer service, IT skills, budgeting skills and more.
Work experience
This part of your programme will be fully tailored to your needs. The duration will be agreed with you, giving you the flexibility to choose how long it lasts, and it will take place in a sector of your choice
Course length:
3 days a week for 23 weeks + relevant work experience:
- 2 days a week - Work Ready
- 1 day a week - Functional Skills (0.5 Math + 0.5 English)
How will it be delivered and assessed?
During Induction Day, learners will complete an assessment to determine the most suitable course and level for their next steps. An Initial Assessment on Skills Forward will also be carried out to identify individual needs and ensure the right support is provided throughout the programme.
Entry requirements
Aged 16-18 (up to 25 with an EHCP)
There are no entry requirements or minimum grades needed to join the programme. During Induction Day, learners will complete an assessment to determine the most suitable course and level for their next steps. An Initial Assessment on Skills Forward will also be carried out to identify individual needs and ensure the right support is provided throughout the programme.
