Student support

Pastoral Care

We have a dedicated Pastoral Manager based in the Post 16 Study Centre who looks after all aspects of Post 16 pastoral issues, including attendance and well-being.

Student Success

We are delighted that the progress our students make has steadily improved. This has been through our continued focus on teaching and learning.  Over fifty percent of final year students progress to Higher Education, with some gaining entry to Russell Group universities.  Others have successfully gained high quality apprenticeships or employment with local and national companies.

What makes us different?

Our Range Of Courses

We offer a variety of academic and applied courses at Level 3, as well as a Level 2 Pathway.  The Level 2 courses are designed to meet the needs of our students by giving them the academic and practical skills and knowledge they will need to progress on to Level 3 or gain an apprenticeship.  In addition, students also have the ability to re-take their GCSE English or maths exam.

Excellent Facilities

Our dedicated Post 16 Study Centre, provides a space solely for Post 16 students to study. Students have access to quiet study spaces as well as the canteen for break and lunchtimes.

There are a number of PCs and Chromebooks exclusively available to Post 16 students. There is also a wireless network for those students who wish to bring in their own device.

Our library provides a variety of up to date resources which support students learning.

Careers Advice And Guidance

Our dedicated work experience/careers coordinator organises careers and apprenticeship opportunities for students throughout the year, as well as high quality work placements at the end of Year 12.  Students are also given employability interviews to prepare them for the world of work.
