About us
Welcome to Hartsdown Academy
We are excited to welcome you to our fantastic Sixth Form!
Our Sixth Form has gone from strength to strength, each year building on the success of the previous one. After being awarded Good in our latest Ofsted inspection, we are now on a mission to become Outstanding. We are constantly reviewing ways to provide our students with a fulfilling Post 16 education, including NEW course offers for 2024. We have a positive, caring and holistic approach to each student supporting the stepping stones to the next stage of their life; through a diverse and stimulating curriculum.
Our goal is not only for academic success but to develop compassionate, creative and concerned young adults who will make a worthwhile contribution to society. It is imperative that we offer a curriculum at Key Stage 5 that prepares our students for the global economic challenges and competition that they will face throughout their working life. We are convinced that the IBCP can do just that.
The International Baccalaureate Career Programme is more than just an education. It is a programme of study that provides a well-rounded education for Post 16 students at Hartsdown Academy. The programme is an internationally recognised course, followed by students around the world. It seeks to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young adults who are prepared for the modern, working world. The programme leads to further/higher education, apprenticeships or employment.
In our sixth form we offer mentoring focused on progress, achievement and pastoral care to support pressures inside and outside of the Academy. We are passionate about our students achieving and developing the best possible qualifications and skills to enable them to fulfil their career aspirations and work closely with local universities and employers.
We are offering new courses this year such as Travel and Tourism, Applied Phychology and Criminology, IB Business Management and IB Sport, Health and Exercise Science and are very excited about what the next few years holds for us here at Hartsdown Academy Sixth Form.
We look forward to welcoming you to our new academic year.
