Welcome to Orchards ACE
Orchards Advanced Centre of Education (ACE) is a new innovative approach to post 16 education. We have used the most up-to-date government thinking to create unique and tailored study plans that lead to employment or university opportunities.
Our approach allows students to focus on their dreams and ambitions by allowing them to study a single subject in great depth whilst ensuring a broad education which encompasses work experience is offered meaning that no future pathway is closed.
Our work experience programme is tailored to benefit the future goals of each student. Students will spend time out working in businesses that match the course they have chosen and will also have the opportunity to work on projects in house as part of our staff team to support the school and broaden their own skills base. Beyond this, careers education forms the backbone of each of the pathways on offer. We are also committed to providing excellent university advice for our students who want to continue onto degree courses.
Our course structure allows for a personalised approach to teaching and ensures our highly trained, industry specialised staff can concentrate on individual performance and development. This personal approach ensures our students are supported and that tailored programmes are offered.
The courses offered at Orchards are double A-Level equivalent qualifications in the ‘major block’ and single A-Level equivalent qualifications in the ‘minor block’ – By structuring the curriculum in this way it gives students the chance to take a complimentary qualification as their minor or something totally different in order to open different pathways beyond 6th form. This approach and the extensive work experience skills gained will enable them to successfully apply for employment or university.
The exclusive nature of the courses means that there will be limited places on each course so we do recommend sending in applications as early as possible.
