A Level Classical Civilisation - Invicta Grammar School

Entry Requirements: - Five GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including English, and the individual subject entry requirements.

How many subjects can you choose: - You MUST choose 3 subjects (these can be mixture of A-level or BTEC's). Please DO NOT choose anymore than 5 subjects.

Please note that if you are intending to study a course at Invicta Grammar School as part of your course choices, you can only study one Invicta course (maximum) alongside two Valley Park courses.

An interest in the culture of some of the most influential societies of all time is crucial to this course. An ability to engage with some of the most fascinating thoughts, texts and works of Art ever produced, combined with an eagerness to explore societies far removed but also strangely familiar to our own, will be invaluable when approaching this subject. Good essay writing skills are also required. This is a reformed A Level course with three discrete units of study. These units will involve study of both ancient Greece and Rome

Grade 6 or above in English Literature

This course can be studied as part of the Valley Park Curriculum offer where students within the Valley Invicta Academy trust may avail of courses on offer in our partner schools across the trust.
