Tuition Fee: 16-18 exempt Assessment Fee: 16-18 exempt Facility Fee: Cost for day students- £120 per year - Cost for residential students- £200 per year The facility fee is applicable to all our full time FE students and this is paid annually before you arrive for your enrolment and induction. This course is perfect for anyone interested in a career working with animals, food crops, or managing our natural environment and wanting to enter the land-based sector. Enthusiasm and commitment to gaining new skills and learning about the importance of agriculture will provide a great foundation for progressing to further learning.

Course Details

Being organised

Developing a progression plan

Working with others

Researching a topic

Finding out about the land-based sector

Caring for and feeding animals

Moving and accommodating animals

Growing plants

Using land-based machinery

Preparing soil for planting

How will it be delivered and assessed?

You will complete a series of work booklets, related to the modules listed.

Entry requirements

You'll need to have achieved 1 or more GCSEs grades 2-1 (previous grade structure E-G) or another related Entry Level 3 qualification.

Completion of a Foundation Learning programme and a strong interest in agriculture.

Successful completion of a Level 1 course in another area.

Your next steps...

Successful completion of this Level 1 will lead you to progress on to Level 2 Agriculture or a relevant land-based Apprenticeship.
