Entry Requirements - Generally, in order to study Level 3 courses you must have achieved a minimum of five GCSE passes at grades 9 – 4, including English and maths at a grade 4 or above, or a Level 2 Pass in a relevant vocational qualification. Some A Level courses require you to have achieved specific grades in either that subject, English or maths.
For Level 2 courses you will need to achieve 3 GCSEs at grade 3 or above. Both English and maths must be at grade 2 or above.

1. Unit 3 Music and Sound for Media 60 GLH – Internally assessed
Overview
This unit focuses on the application of digital music production techniques in the context of
media, including film, television, video games, and other multimedia platforms.
Content
● Understanding the role of music and sound in media productions.
● Composing and arranging music for different types of media projects.
● Incorporating sound effects and audio postproduction techniques.
● Analysing and critiquing the use of music and sound in existing media content.
2. Unit 6 - DAW Production 120 GLH – Externally assessed
Overview
This unit explores the use of Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) as essential tools in music
production.
Content
● Familiarization with DAW software and hardware.
● Creating and editing audio and MIDI tracks.
● Applying effects and processing to audio.
● Mixing and arranging within a DAW environment.
● Project management and workflow optimization.
External Assessment
● Task set by Pearson.
● Supervised assessment period of 15 hours over a two-week period timetabled by
Pearson.
● Completed on a computer, with submission of digital folder to Pearson.
