Application Instructions

Applications Open – 3rd November 2025

Applications Close – 31st July 2026

Entry Requirements –We do have entry recommendations for some courses, especially A-levels, as we would not want you to start a course that would not be suitable for you. We want to give you the best chance of future success.

The course programmes are flexible: students can mix Level 3 courses with Level 2 courses, or A-levels with BTECs. We provide impartial advice and guidance and seek to put you on the courses you want and are likely to be successful in.

Students are expected to study up to 3 A level equivalent subjects (this can be from either A levels and/or Level 3 BTEC subjects) building their own personalised combination of Level 3 subjects OR a full time Level 2 course.

The sixth form runs on a flexible timetable with some courses running until 6.00pm. This flexibility means we can offer as much as possible, to as many as possible, as often as possible.

How to Apply – Please apply via Kent Choices.

Course Summary

East Kent Cricket Academy

Our cricket academy has flourished in recent years. The programme is open to students at The Canterbury Academy and The Langton. In recent years, both schools have enjoyed considerable success in county competitions.

The Canterbury Academy have won the KSCA county cup for three years in a row and made the final of a national under 17 cup in 2022. The Langton have won the KSCA county cup regularly and won the KSCA League in 2024. Players on this academy receive regular coaching from coaches with experience in the professional game and Kent League cricket.

Training takes place in professional facilities at Polo Farm and Kent Cricket Club. We are considering providing a girls’ academy in future years to cater for the growth in the women’s’ game. Several players have represented their country in recent year and ex-Canterbury Academy student, Jaydn Denly was awarded with a professional contract by Kent Cricket in 2024.

In order to gain a place on this programme, players may be asked to trial and they will need to be playing regular club cricket. For more information, contact sport@canterbury.kent.sch.uk

Students are also required to apply for Sixth Form subjects that will be delivered alongside the Cricket Academy. More details on home page.
