Level 3 - 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or higher including English and Mathematics.

Transition - 5 GCSEs at grade 3 or higher. Either English or Mathematics must be at a grade 4.

Why study this subject?

Many employers and admissions tutors will require you to have English GCSE at grade 5 or above. Students who achieve this will have a much wider variety of options available to them which may include access to advanced level courses or employment. As a Transition Year student it is likely that you will want to progress to A levels in Year 13. Having a good pass in GCSE English will help you with this.




Course Details

Units that will be studied An appropriate exam board and course route will be chosen based on the English curriculum undertaken in Year 11. You will be required to study this for the whole year, as it is hoped that you will deepen you knowledge and skills significantly and improve your grade significantly at the end of Year 12. This course is exam only.
