Course Summary

This course is perfect for those looking to develop a broad base of knowledge and practical skills in countryside and estate management, rural industries, and habitats.

You'll study a range of conservation issues and how tourism and development impact the countryside. You'll learn about different habitats and relevant legislation and develop practical experience in effectively managing the conservation of plants and animals.

Estate skills
Principles of wildlife ecology and conservation
Countryside recreation
Grassland management
Heathland management
Ecological concepts and application
Woodland Habitat management
Archaeology

How will it be delivered and assessed?

You will be assessed through unit-based internal assignments and external assessments to include theory exams and practical synoptic evidence.

Entry requirements

EITHER:

You will need to have achieved 5 or more GCSEs between Grade 9-4 (A-C) including maths, English and a Science

Successful completion of a related Level 2 qualification at Merit or GCSE maths at Grade 4 or above

Mature students without the above requirements will be considered

Achieving a high grade on a Level 3 programme will open students to higher education degrees or straight into employment.
