General Entry Requirements:
Our level 3 Sixth Form entry requirements are five GCSEs at Grades 9-4 including Maths and English minimum Grade 4. However, please read the course information, which, provides specific details of course content and entry requirements.

Subjects: -
Level 3 - Enter your choices in order of preference for Level 3 courses. Students need to select the equivalent of 3 courses (Triple counts as 3), with 2 reserve options if selecting Level 3 courses. Year 12 are expected to study the equivalent of three subjects. Once we close to applicants on the 6 February the options selected will be reviewed and if required we will be in contact.
Level 2 - just add the course required, eg beauty, finance or fitness. However, please look up all entry requirements for individual subjects as some subjects require specific subjects and grades.

Additional optional qualifications such as Arts Award (Gold),Core Maths, Further Maths and the EPQ are not applied for at the Kent Choice stage further information will be provided in the 6th Form induction if you would like to undertake this course in addition to your core qualifications.

Course Summary
This course allows students to engage with finance specific knowledge that is relevant to individuals and their personal finance decision making. Students will gain an understanding of how to maintain financial wellbeing, maintain financial sustainability and make the most of a budget. Students will also gain an insight into a range of career opportunities within the financial services industry and other industries in addition to an understanding of the job application process, whilst receiving guidance on methods for enhancing employability skills.
Course Details
Unit 1: Your Personal Finances
In this unit, students will develop an understanding of money and sources of money. Students will learn how to store money safely and how to prepare a personal budget and learn about different types of borrowing. Students will also deepen their understanding of saving and borrowing and how to keep money safe in the modern world, in addition to types of insurance. This unit will help students to develop their understanding of spending and how to become competent at managing money.
Unit 2: Money Management for Your Generation.
In this unit students will develop an understanding of modern banking and the tools used to manage an individual’s money. Students will learn when income can come from and about documentation relating to income including payslips. Students will understand how investment works and develop their understanding about different types of payment cards, the cost of borrowing and how and where to seek financial advice. Within the unit students will also learn how to calculate foreign exchange to support spending decisions and the impact they can have.
Unit 3 Financial Careers and Financial Sustainability:
This unit gives students an insight and appreciation to the different career paths within the financial services sector. Students will explore how to research and create career opportunities, the routes into financial services and elements that make individuals more employable. Students will understand how to maintain financial wellbeing and how to be financially sustainable throughout life, whilst considering external factors that could influence their financial future.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Classroom teaching. The course is currently assessed through a combination of methods with one short assessment per unit.
Entry requirements
1 Year Course –Normally 5 GCSEs Grades in the range of 9-2 (Including Maths and English at Grade 3 or above)
