Course Summary

Launch your career and delve into all aspects of the floristry creative design process.

Designed to provide you with a range of specialist technical and practical skills and knowledge which will equip you to progress to employment in the floristry industry.

You will study a range of floral design methods and techniques, as well as botany and business skills, to set up a freelance business successfully. You will cover how to produce a range of designs, including tied designs, wired designs, glued designs and designs in different mediums for a range of occasions.

Course Details

Modules include:
Creative design process
Diverse flower and plant care
Plan, assemble and evaluate diverse floristry designs
Function and event decoration using floral displays
Working in the floristry industry

Entry requirements

You’ll need to have achieved 2 or more GCSEs between Grade 9-3 (previous grade structure grades A*-D) in English and maths
Successful completion of a Level 2 course at Merit grade
Mature students without the above requirements will be considered

Your next steps...

You could progress onto the following qualifications:

• City and Guilds Level 4 Higher Diploma in Floristry

• City and Guilds Level 5 Master Diploma in Professional Floristry

Alternatively, you may choose to take on a role in a floristry shop or business, with a view to taking on a supervisory role.
