You will cover essential concepts, terminology and practices, laying the foundations for further progression vital to contributing to responsible and sustainable management of natural resources.

Soil science
Introduction to plant science
Tree classification and identification
Tree establishment
Tree and woodland management
Pest and diseases
Tool and equipment

How will it be delivered and assessed?

You will be assessed through theory-based written exams, and practical and report writing exams.

Entry requirements

EITHER:

You’ll need to have achieved 2 or more GCSEs between Grade 9-3 (previous grade structure grades A*-D) in maths, English and Science

Successful completion of a related Level 1 course or a portfolio of evidence to show working potential plus GCSE maths, English and Science
