Daytime/working hours
A range of specified PPE and other items, costing approximately �40, will be required for this course.
In addition you will also be required to provide safety boots, overalls and navy/black polo shirt. There are also a number of opportunities throughout the year for various construction related trips which may also incur a cost.
Course Summary
During this Level 1 course, you will gain general construction skills, allowing you to choose a pathway that best suits your skills and ambition.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Your assessment will consist of 80% practical tasks with 20% coursework and written work supporting practical activities.
Entry requirements
You will need 2 GCSEs grade E/2 or above including English and maths.
Your next steps...
On completion of the course you will have developed a range of skills that will allow you to seamlessly progress onto a Level 1 course in one of the four areas on construction, in bricklaying, site carpentry or painting and decorating or maintenance operations.
With some additional training you may then decide to focus your career in one of the four construction areas to become a bricklayer, plumber, carpenter or painter and decorator.
