Entry Requirements: 5 GCSE grades of 4 or above of which must include English & Maths. Then individual subject criteria

Science and Maths - require level 7 in subject to study (plus 6 in maths for science subjects)

Geography can provide insights into understanding the world around us and of the issues it tackles. Statistics show that compared with other students, Geographers are the most employable. Geographers are taught a wide range of skills drawing in ideas from many sources. This ability to view issues from a wider perspective is appropriate for working in many different areas. The nature of peoples’ working lives is changing. It is less likely that someone will spend all their life in one company or organisation. What will the course involve?

  • The linear A level in Geography involves the study of:
  • Tectonic processes and Hazards
  • Landscape systems, processes and change
  • Globalisation
  • Diverse places
  • Superpowers
  • Global development and connections- Migration, identity and sovereignty

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Assessment is by three written examinations and an independent investigation.

Entry requirements

Students will need to have a grade 6 or above in GCSE Geography. They will also need a level 7 in the sciences (7:7 accepted on combined science).
