Course Summary
There has never been a better or more important time to study geography. With growing interest in issues such as climate change, migration, environmental degradation and social cohesion, Geography is one of the most relevant courses you could choose to study.
Course Details
Geography is a two year course including three examinations to be taken at the end of year 13 and an independent investigation, completed during the latter part of year 12, early part of year 13.
- Unit 1 will include: Tectonic Processes and Hazards, Landscape Systems, Processes and Change, Coastal Landscapes and Change, The Water Cycle and Water insecurity and The Carbon Cycle and Energy Security.
- Unit 2 topics will include: Globalisation, Shaping Places, Diverse places, Superpowers and Global Development and Connections (including health, human rights and intervention).
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Entry requirements
5 GCSE grades at 4 or above including English and preferably a grade 5 in Geography, although grade 4 may be accepted after discussion with the Geography department.
