Hairdressing Technical Certificate Level 2

This qualification aims to provide you with a range of essential and practical skills and knowledge, which will equip you to seek employment or further training within the hairdressing industry.

The course covers all the core skills you will need to progress to further learning and training. You will study the following mandatory content:

• Advise and consult with clients
• Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp
• Set and dress hair
• Cut ladies hair
• Colour and lighten hair
• Blow-dry and style hair
• Style hair with electrical equipment

There will also be:

• Structured work-experience or work placements within their business
• Classes/lectures given by industry experts
• Employers input into projects and exercises
• Employers who act as ‘expert witnesses’ to contribute to the assessment of your work

You will be assessed by the following:

• A Service Portfolio including evidence of practical service carried out with proficiency.
• A Graded Practical Assessment in which you will carry out a complete service on a client. The service will be graded by centre assessors.
• External Examinations will test your knowledge and understanding from across the whole vocational area.
• A Graded Synoptic Assessment in which you will carry out a range of services from across the units.

A Range Of 3/2 Grades At GCSE And A Genuine Interest In The Hair Industry.

Upon successful completion, you will be qualified to work in several employment destinations such as hairdressing salons, hotels or cruise ships.
