A Levels: 5 GCSEs at grade 5-9, including English and mathematics

Applied General Qualifications : 5 GCSEs at grade 4-9, including English and mathematics

Chelsea FC and Kent Crusaders Basketball Instructions:

Students must choose three (3) different subject options from three different Option Blocks (you cannot choose the same subject more than once). If a student is selecting the Chelsea FC or Kent Crusaders options, they will need to pick 3 A Levels/BTECS to study alongside this. Students should ensure they are predicted or have achieved grades that meet the entry criteria for chosen options by consulting the UKAT Sixth Form Course booklet. The blocking structure can be amended dependent on course sign up and other timetabling factors.

Course Summary


Course Details

Students will study key topics, including human lifespan development, health and wellbeing, and the roles and responsibilities of professionals in the sector. Through NEA work, students apply their learning in realistic scenarios, developing communication, planning and problem-solving skills. This course combines theoretical learning with hands-on experience, helping students develop the essential knowledge and practical skills needed for progression into higher education or careers within the health and social care sector.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Students will complete six units over two years. Two of these units are externally assessed through written examinations. The remaining four units are non-examined assessments (NEA), where students complete practical or applied assignments which are internally assessed and externally moderated. Final grades awarded are Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction*.

Applied General Qualifications: 5 GCSEs at grade 4-9, including English and mathematics.

Successful completion of the course provides between 16 and 56 UCAS points, supporting entry into university or the workplace. Many students go on to study degrees or apprenticeships in nursing, midwifery, paramedicine, social work or other allied health professions, making this an ideal pathway into a rewarding and essential field.
