Expectations of Independent Study
Students are expected to:
• Read widely around the topics studied, including primary and secondary sources
• Take detailed notes and organise them for revision
• Complete regular essay practice and source analysis tasks
• Research historical context and historiography
• Meet coursework deadlines and revise consistently for exams
History A Level is highly respected by universities and employers. It supports a wide range of careers that require analytical thinking, research, and communication. It pairs well with subjects like English, Politics or Sociology.

Exam 3 – Paper 3 – 2 hours 15 minutes – 30% of qualification
Coursework – 20% of qualification

Standard Entry Requirements
Grade 6 or higher English Language or Literature is required
Grade 6 or higher or Merit in humanities subject is desirable
