You can make up to 5 applications to Colleges within the EKC Group, that is:

• EKC Broadstairs College
• EKC Canterbury College
• EKC Dover College
• EKC Folkestone College
• EKC Sheppey College

*Junior Colleges exist in these locations.

Please only add one course or T Level per application, except for A Levels at EKC Canterbury College, where up to 4 A Level courses can be added per application. At your interview, you and the tutors can discuss the best level and courses in order for you to progress.

If you’re passionate about Hair and Beauty, and helping people look and feel their best, this introductory course is the perfect place to start. Based at EKC Dover College, you’ll train in our fully equipped, professional salon and begin developing the essential skills you’ll need for a career in the Hair and Beauty industry.

This course introduces you to the fundamentals of Hairdressing and Beauty therapy. You’ll build your knowledge and confidence in areas such as:

• Exploring the Hair and Beauty industry
• Presenting a professional image in the salon
• Shampooing and conditioning techniques
• Styling and dressing women’s hair
• Skincare basics
• Manicures and pedicures
• Reception and client care
• Health and safety in the workplace
• Teamwork and working with others

After completing this course, you can progress to a Level 2 course in Hairdressing or Beauty therapy, bringing you one step closer to your dream career in the industry.
