Introductory Diploma in Vocational Studies Level 1 BTEC

The course gives you an opportunity to develop the transferrable skills, attributes and behaviours needed to progress to further study and ultimately to employment.

You will study a range of units designed to build you skills, these may include:

• Being organised
• Developing a personal progression plan
• Working with others
• Researching a topic
• Creating an art image
• Branding a product
• Supporting children’s learning through everyday experiences
• Creating a storyboard
• Advising others about healthy lifestyles
• Exploring travel and tourism in the UK

You will build a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your knowledge and skills. The units are assessed through a variety of activities and evidenced through written tasks, posters, photographic evidence of events, practicals and group tasks. The evidence can be linked to your own personal interests and learning style. Work will be assessed at a pass, merit, or distinction level.

You can continue with your studies onto another level, for example Level 2 or you may wish to study a further Level 1 depending on your personal requirements.
