Course Summary
You may only select this course if you have chosen the Academic & Vocational Pathway.
The UAL Drawing qualification has been designed to provide you with an exciting and challenging creative experience. The course will introduce you to the rigours and rewards of working within the most fundamental of creativity activities. Building on prior experience, you will be required to approach new intellectual and material experiences and challenges, designed to deliver an independent critical understanding and extended skill base.
Course Delivery
The course will be delivered through a practical and engaging workshop format enabling students to build skills and understanding within each specialised unit area. You will have 8 lessons per fortnight based in the Art studio and will need to produce 2.5 hours of independent work per week in order to support skills development and enable students to meet the required standard for each Unit assessment criteria. Students are encouraged to independently explore each skill using a range of source materials from direct observation.
Course Details
Students will study a range of units including:
UNIT 1: Drawing materials and methods
UNIT 2: Drawing and measurement
UNIT 3: Drawing and Light
UNIT 10: Drawing into 3 Dimensions
How will it be delivered and assessed?
All units are internally assessed and evidenced through coursework. Digital portfolios’ will be produced during the course for External Moderation purposes and can also be utilised for applications to Level 3 courses at Further Education institutions.

Learners do not need any other qualifications as pre-requisites to entry
