Course Summary
The course for A-Level is a popular one and it is not a requirement that students have studied Media Studies previously, however a good pass in English is a prerequisite for the course. Media Studies at A level is based around the theoretical framework of media language, representation, media industries and audiences. These concepts underpin all of the analytical work that students undertake with various media texts ranging from television, magazines, music video, advertising, radio, websites, newspapers and video games. Media Studies is a diverse subject that provides students with a good knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of topics and areas so is suitable for many careers.
