Overall entry requirements:

A Levels: 5 GCSEs at grade 5-9, including English and mathematics

Applied General Qualifications : 5 GCSEs at grade 4-9, including English and mathematics

Chelsea FC and Kent Crusaders Basketball Instructions:

Students must choose three (3) different subject options from three different Option Blocks (you cannot choose the same subject more than once). If a student is selecting the Chelsea FC or Kent Crusaders options, they will need to pick 3 A Levels/BTECS to study alongside this. Students should ensure they are predicted or have achieved grades that meet the entry criteria for chosen options by consulting the UKAT Sixth Form Course booklet. The blocking structure can be amended dependent on course sign up and other timetabling factors.

Course Summary

Learners can tailor the course to suit their strengths by choosing one of three specialist pathways: Performance (instrumental or vocal), Production (music creation using technology), or Business (planning and managing music events). The course develops a wide range of skills including musicianship, rehearsal techniques, understanding music styles, live and recorded performance, and music industry knowledge.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

All students complete three core units: one externally assessed (based on their chosen pathway) and two internally assessed: Planning for a Career in Music and Understanding Music Styles. Additional optional units allow for further specialisation. Assessment is a combination of internal and external coursework, with no final exam. Students are continually evaluated through practical and written tasks, encouraging ongoing development and creativity. management, event planning, publishing, and broadcasting

Entry requirements

Grade 9-4 in five GCSE’s including a minimum and a grade 6 or level 2 merit in Music. An audition if not applicable.
