Course Summary
This course will allow you to look at different aspects of dance and gain a broad understanding of training, creating and performing. You will experience a wide-range of dance styles and gain performance experience.

Course Details
You will develop your dance performance skills, dance analysis and choreographic skills. Throughout the course you will work in groups, duos and as a solo performer, focusing on both technical development and creative exploration. You will work on modules which could include:
- Exploring Performance styles
- Creating Performance material
- Performing as an Dancer as part of an ensemble
- Planning a career in the industry
Enrichment Opportunities
Whilst taking this course, you will also have the opportunity to take part in three dance companies run in the College. This will allow you to perform in shows to enhance your dance technique and performance.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Assessment is completed across the two years via assignment work. Each unit has outcomes you must cover in order to pass. Each assignment is graded on a Pass, Merit and Distinction basis. Assessment methods will be varied, ranging from practical assessment to written coursework.
