Course Summary

Psychology is the study of the human mind and behaviour. This course aims to give students an insight into the hidden depths of the human psyche.

The study of Psychology offers rich insights into why humans think and behave in the way that we do. We explore Clinical Characteristics of our mental health and attempt to predict behaviour using scientific research methods. Psychology demands both a high level of mathematical and scientific skill alongside an ability to analyse complex behaviour, making it a very attractive course to both universities and employers.

Course Details

Year 12

Students will learn about the cognitive, developmental and social approaches in Psychology. They will develop an understanding of mental disorders, human behaviour, social influence, memory and attachment. Students study different research methods used to collect data and will undertake small research projects of their own.

Year 13

Students will study three topics: gender, schizophrenia and aggression.
