A range of specified PPE and a basic kit and equipment will be required for this course and will cost approximately �150.
The PPE required will consist of safety boots, overalls and navy/black polo shirt. There are also a number of opportunities throughout the year for various construction related trips which may also incur a cost.
Course Summary
If you are working towards a career as a carpenter or joiner, then this Level 2 course will help you take your skills to the next level. You will learn more about basic joint-making and first fix carpentry so you can confidently install floor joists and timber frames for partition walls.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Assessments will take place throughout the duration of the course. Practical tasks will make up 60% of the assessment, coursework will make up 30% and 10% will be made up of exams. Accuracy and completing tasks within a specified time frame will be important to the successful completion of the course. Constructive feedback from your tutor will also help you to improve and progress towards recognised industrial standards.
Entry requirements
Successful completion of the Level 1 course, and English and/or maths at grade 3.
Your next steps...
On completion of the course you can progress onto a Level 3 Site Carpentry course or start an apprenticeship in Carpentry.
You may wish to start your career as a Carpenter, become Self-employed, become a Site manager, or become a Property developer.
