Access to Higher Education: Social Sciences

This Access to Higher Education Diploma focusses on Social Science and is designed to give you the skills, knowledge, and confidence you need to progress onto a range of degrees including history, law and psychology.

The course prepares people without traditional entry qualifications and those who have been out of education for a period of time for study at university.

Studying this course will introduce you to a variety of subjects and prepare you for entry onto a degree of your choice.

You will take part in the following subjects on the Social Sciences pathway:

• Psychology/Criminology
• Sociology
• Education

Assessment methods include written assignments, essays, reports, timed classwork, examinations, practical work, group discussion and presentations.

The Access to HE Diploma is a nationally recognised qualification that enables you to gain entry to university. On successful completion of the course, you can progress onto a social science degree and a range of other degrees.
