Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in the Classroom

Develop the knowledge and skills needed to start a career working with children and young people as a qualified teaching and learning assistant, with our part time course for Adults.

You will learn how to support children and young people?s learning in a school or college. The course will cover a range of areas including:

• Children and young people?s development
• Supporting positive behaviour in a learning environment
• Communication and professional relationships
• Safeguarding
• Understanding children and young people?s play and leisure

Alongside classroom-based learning, you will complete a work placement in an early years setting to gain practical experience and demonstrate your knowledge and skills.

Assessment is through a portfolio of work, written assignments, and work-based assessments.

On successful completion of the course, you can progress onto further study in this area or into employment as a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner and work as a Teaching Assistant.
