Course Summary
Develop the professional skills and knowledge needed to become an Early Years Practitioner and start a career in the early years sector with our part time course for Adults.
Course Details
You will gain an insight into a variety of aspects relating to the early years curriculum and caring for children from birth to seven years of age.
This course will cover:
- Introduction to the role of the Early Years Practitioner
- Child development
- Legislation framework and professional practice
- Play development and preparing for school
- Equality and diversity
- Safeguarding
- Professional development
Alongside classroom-based learning, you will complete a work placement in an early years setting to gain practical experience and demonstrate your knowledge and skills.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Assessment is through a portfolio of work, written assignments and work-based assessments.
Your next steps...
On successful completion of the course, you can progress onto further study in this area or into employment in a variety of roles that support children and young people, such as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant and Special Needs Assistant.
