Course Summary
Gain the knowledge and skills to become an Early Years Educator and work with children from birth to five years with our part time Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) course for Adults.
Course Details
This course will prepare you for employment in early years education and care. You will develop the skills to work with children from birth to five years and gain knowledge of children aged five to seven years.
The qualification is structured around three themes:
- Theme 1: Health and wellbeing
- Theme 2: Legislation, frameworks and professional practice
- Theme 3: Play, development and learning for school readiness
Alongside classroom-based learning, you will complete a work placement in an early years setting to gain practical experience and demonstrate your knowledge and skills.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
You will be assessed by your tutor and assessor using a range of methods?including?direct observation in the workplace, an e-portfolio of evidence, written assignments and tasks. To gain this qualification,?you will need to pass all units, complete a longitudinal study and show competence in a real work environment.

Upon achievement of this qualification, you will be able progress onto further study or enter the workforce as an Early Years Educator in various job roles such as:
- Assistant in Children's Centres
- Practitioner in nursery schools
- Practitioner in reception classes in primary schools
- Pre-school worker
